⚠️ Crime Prevention Message: Motorbike Thefts in Neighbouring County

Northamptonshire Police would like to make motorbike owners aware of an increase in motorcycle thefts recently reported in a neighbouring county.

While there is currently no specific intelligence suggesting a rise within Northamptonshire, we are asking riders to remain vigilant and take simple steps to protect their bikes from opportunistic theft.

To help keep your motorcycle secure, please consider the following precautions:

🔒 Use multiple security measures

Fit a high‑quality disc lock and chain secured to a grounded anchor point.

Consider a Thatcham‑approved alarm or immobiliser.

📍 Park smart

Whenever possible, park in well‑lit, busy areas covered by CCTV.

At home, keep your bike in a locked garage or behind a secure gate.

📱 Track it

Install a GPS tracking device to improve the chance of recovery.

👀 Be aware of suspicious activity

Report anyone acting suspiciously around parked motorbikes immediately.
